More Acquisitions

I decided, since the blog background was giving me such fits and causing much frustration, I needed a little retail therapy.  So off to the local book store I went, with actually an ulterior motive in mind.  For years, they have had a much-neglected (until now) copy of a book entitled Domiknitrix.  Unfortunately, someone had purchased it out from under me.  Perfectly all right, though.  I picked up a "coffee table" book highlighting the history of the corset, and it turns out Domiknitrix is available for a Kindle download.  This will be interesting, as I've never downloaded a pattern book for my Kindle before.  I have downloaded electronic books and printed off the patterns as necessary, but a Kindle may prove--different.

I figured out how to fix the map widget, as well as edit other widgets I found through blogger.  I'll keep you posted, dear Readers!  For those of you here in the States, have a happy and explosive Independence Day!  And remember, kids, when playing with bottle rockets, the protocol is: 1.  Light it.  2.  Throw it up.  3.  Yell "DUCK!".  IN THAT ORDER!

In an Attempt to Assist Submissives

Through some recent comments on a submissive male's blog, I've been mulling over the idea of finding some assistance for those submissives who are seeking a Dominant, but don't know where to begin.  Curious in regard to this, I tried my local cragislist.  Other than some idiot wanting a female sex toy (my mental response--Sir, you have 2 hands.  . . what's the problem here?) I didn't find a whole lot.  This got me to thinking. . . . there are 2 book samples I've recently downloaded, Find Your Domme by Mistress Celia, and Letters from a Dominatrix by Mistress Thalia, that I will be looking into as soon as I can, so that I may try to help with the educational aspects of D/s.  I'm not an expert, so please don't troll, scream, rant, or threaten.  Those comments will be deleted.  Not because I don't welcome criticism, but because it's My Blog.  Get that?  MINE.  Besides which, some submissives truly are seeking guidance, as well as solace.  I'll provide what I can, dear Readers!  For now, for those of you who would prefer to peruse your own copies, please feel free to click the following links:

3 Books in One Go

I currently have 3 non-fiction D/s / femdom books going on just now, as well as a couple of works of fiction that I'm rather enjoying.  I am mid-way through the third chapter of Elise Sutton's Female Domination.  She brings up some interesting points and several interesting Bibilcal quotations, but I have a slight disagreement with her in regard to Adam and Eve.  She seems to have neglected one of the most important reasons for Eve's existence at all:  Eve existed as Adam's helpmate, yes, this is true.  But God made Eve from Adam's rib so that Adam may subjugate her.  Adam's first wife, Lilith, left him.  God created both Adam and Lilith from the same cosmic mud, dirt and dust.  When Adam tried to get Lilith to play "bottom," she refused, stating that she was equal to him, made by the same Creator's hand and of the same material, therefore she was Adam's equal, not to be subjugated.  Because of this, Lilith is often vilified as a demon, and even the character of Lilith on the old tv show Cheers was a damn difficult woman, always demanding, always bossy, and hard for most people in general to accept, let alone like.  

So let's open up some discussion here.  I see Lilith as an early feminist who has been vilified by men, the patriarchy, and Christian and Jewish culture in general.  Demoness or early goddess who was later demonized by the emerging Christians?  What say you, readers?  

Ooooooo, New Titles!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who are interested, I have a second blog, which is more vanilla in nature and quite tame, for it is about plain old book-books, as well as electronic books for Kindle, PDF, and other digital formats.  But I just wanted to give a warm, friendly shout-out to Kathy and a man who posts as subservient husband for suggested readings for me.  Yes, sir, I will most definitely be looking into a copy of Uniquely Rika, which I have seen via Amazon but haven't had a chance to look at yet.  I'm currently reading Sutton's Female Domination, Easton and Hardy's Radical Ecstasy, and have downloaded--yes, I found a DOWNLOADABLE copy--of Lee Harrington's Sacred Kink, but haven't had a chance to crack its virtual spine yet.  Oooooooooo, it's like Christmas all over again!  Thanks to those of you who have responded, and please keep those suggested titles coming!  Happy Reading!
