All Apologies
Yes, I more than realize it has been well over a year. What--you never questioned your own pathetic existence and why you do what you do? No? Oddly, I'm still in a slight state of limbo over mine. So, with that, please allow me just a few more days to sit still and think a bit more. Please accept my sincerest apologies, and I'm glad to see I apparently still have followers and readers. Thanks!

Funk--the REAL Music of Peace?
This is just a thought with a couple of personal observations thrown in.
Ever notice how no one ever gets upset when funk music is playing? Well, ok, the average person doesn't. Conservative right-wingers do, but they don't count, because they're not really people.
George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic was a hippie, and other hippies hung out with him, and George didn't care what color or religion or creed or gender or whatever you were, so long as you were a good musician who dug his groove and who didn't hassle him.
I have never been angry when funk was playing. In fact, to me, funk is like dope, only without the munchies and the illegal shit waiting to happen. So how 'bout it, dear Readers? What do you think is the ultimate music for peace?

Musical fun
For those of you with no sense of humor, or who don't appreciate good rockabilly, or who just don't get me as a person, you won't like this video. For everyone else, hope you enjoy it! ;)

More For My Sisters
I have a tattoo. It's a small tattoo, in a rather private place, and I got it when I was still in college. A lot of my sorority sisters were getting these little roses on their ankles and little stars on their necks and things. What did I want? I wanted something off a Tarot card. I wanted something that was 100% pure ME. It's small, but it's mighty, and it's all mine. If I could take a song and tattoo it all over my body, if I could wrap myself in music, if I could have my own little theme for when I walk into a room, the video below would be IT. Not visually exciting, but listen to the lyrics. I grew up to this song. I've known it by heart since I was about 8. Enjoy!

More Music
Ok, ok, two more and then I'll stop with the videos for now. . . . for now. . .
These 2 might be more--palatable. Although I've always found Tribe 8 to be way more palatable than anything coming out of the entertainment industry as I've been exposed to it, as a viewer, listener and consumer.
Ya know what? I'm just gonna shut up and let Natalie and Queen Ifrica take over. Enjoy!

Threw this one in because of all the wonderful dancing.

Rest in Peace, Clarence Clemons
Just a wee sojourn from the usual on here. . . . rest in peace, Brother Clarence, the Big Man, who I never got to meet but always wanted to. Besides my dad and John Coltrane, this cat was one of the greatest honkers, wailers, soul men, and all around finest human being of all time. Words cannot express how deeply and how much he will be missed. His last greatest honk to date was in a Lady Gaga video, which I bring deep props to, and not just for her totally rockin' boots.
